Membership By Invitation Only
Heads up before you read further: if you haven’t been out to Meob with us recently, don’t bother filling in the application. It won’t go anywhere.
In other words – You cannot become a member purely by filling in the online application.
The only way in is through an invite. An existing member has to invite to Meob on a fishing trip first. That’s how we get to know you, and how you get to know us.
While you’re out there, we’re watching how you handle yourself. Do you respect the other guys on the trip? Do you fish responsibly? Do you look after the environment out at Meob? Do you pitch in and pull your weight? Basically, do you fit with who we are.
If that goes well, you might get asked to apply. Getting invited on a trip doesn’t mean you’re in. Membership still has to be approved by the club, following our rules.
Bottom Line…
You can’t just apply to join OAC. It starts with an invite from a member, a trip to Meob, and us seeing if you’re a good fit. That’s how we make sure the people who join actually care about the same things we do; fishing, conservation, and are fitting into our fraternity.
